PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of suppressing a reduction in output of a laser for a long period of time.SOLUTION: An engine comprises: a main chamber defined between a piston and a cylinder head; and a sub-chamber communicating with the main chamber via an injection hole, and further comprises: a laser spark plug including a laser transmission window provided at a position facing the sub-chamber and transmitting a laser beam, and configured to emit the laser beam to ignition fuel gas supplied to the sub-chamber via the laser transmission window; and a first gas supply passage configured to inject first gas toward the laser transmission window of the laser ignition plug.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
