PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital radiographic detector that is suited for intra-oral image formation and that provides optical coupling between a photo-sensor array and a phosphor layer.SOLUTION: A digital radiographic detector includes a scintillator element having a particulate phosphor dispersed within a binder composition, which is a pressure-sensitive adhesive, and for emitting light corresponding to level of incident radiation. An array of photo-sensors exists, and each photo-sensor in the array provides an output signal indicative of level of received emitted light, thereby, voltage can be applied. The scintillator element bonds directly to and is in optical contact with, either the array of the photo-sensors or an array of optical fibers that guide light to the array of the photo-sensors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
