摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector capable of accurately identifying scintillator cells that generated scintillation light.SOLUTION: A radiation detector 1 includes; a scintillator array 2 comprising a plurality of two-dimensionally arrayed scintillator cells 6, each having a cell incident surface 7a and a cell coupling surface 8a; and a photodetector 3 having a photoreceiver unit optically coupled with the cell coupling surfaces 8a. The scintillator array 2 has light reflective surfaces 9 that act as a light diffusion limiter surrounding the plurality of scintillator cells 6, and light scattering surfaces 11 that optically separate each of the scintillator cells 6 surrounded by the light diffusion limiter from others. Each light scattering surface 11 contains one or more modified quality areas formed through irradiation of laser light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
