The present invention relates to a latent heat accumulator composed of a container which is manufactured by compressive forming or tensile compressive forming and is composed of a metal or of a metal composite in which a phase change material (PCM) is encapsulated. Likewise, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing such latent heat accumulators and to the use of a container which is manufactured by compressive forming or tensile compressive forming and is composed of a metal or a metal composite with at least one opening which can be closed off in a fluid-tight fashion and has the purpose of encapsulating a phase change material.
