The present invention relates to a candle type ballast water filtering device. The candle type ballast water filtering device includes: a housing having an inlet unit and an outlet unit which ballast water in a vessel can flow into or out from, wherein the housing is divided into a housing upper part and a housing lower part by a lower plate; a filter unit located on the housing upper part and filtering the ballast water flowing through the inlet unit; and an automatic washing unit washing foreign substances attached to the filter unit. The housing includes a housing body forming an entire appearance of the housing and storing the ballast water while protecting devices located inside. The filter unit is fixed to a hanging protrusion formed as a short protrusion along the inner circumference of the housing in the upper part of the housing body and a pressure welding protrusion pressing a side of the filter unit by protruding from an inner wall of the housing body. The filter unit endures vibration applied to the vessel and can be stably fixed to the inner part of the housing. The filter unit can be easily connected to a predetermined position when the filter unit is assembled.
