PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery system and an operation method for the same that enable impurities removing means to be used for a relatively long term and also can suppress reduction of the output of a fuel battery and deterioration of durability caused by impurities contained in gas for power generation.SOLUTION: Oxidant gas route switching means 611, 612 for switching a route passing through oxidant gas impurities removing means 41 and a bypass route 51 bypassing the oxidant gas impurities removing means 41 are provided. A controller 8 controls the oxidant gas route switching means 611, 612 so that the bypass route 51 is switched to the route passing through the oxidant gas impurities removing means 41 when an impurities supply amount determined by impurities supply amount determining means 7 exceeds a predetermined impurities supply amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
