Disclosed are a thin film transistor array substrate having a thin film transistor of high performance, and an organic light emitting display device employing the same. The thin film transistor array substrate according to an embodiment of the present invention includes at least one thin film transistor. The thin film transistor includes a substrate; a semiconductor pattern which includes a source region, a channel region, and a drain region on the substrate; a gate insulating layer which covers the semiconductor pattern; a lateral gate electrode which is insulated from the semiconductor pattern and is arranged on at least one lateral surface of the channel region; and an upper gate electrode which is arranged on the gate insulating layer and is at least partly overlapped with the semiconductor pattern. The lateral gate electrode is electrically connected to the upper gate electrode.
