PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device and a recording method that can accurately control recording of an image by using information recorded on a recording medium while making the constitution of the recording device simple and compact on the whole.SOLUTION: An image is recorded on a sheet 8 conveyed in a conveyance direction shown by an arrow A with yellow ink, black ink, cyan ink, and magenta ink discharged from recording heads 17, 18, 19, and 20. The image having information for detecting a conveyance amount of the sheet 8 embedded by watermarking is recorded using the yellow ink discharged from the recording head 17, a sensor unit 21 reads the information, and recording control is performed according to the read result. The recording head 17 for yellow ink discharging is positioned upstream from the sensor unit 21 in the conveyance direction of the sheet 8, and the recording head 18 for black ink discharging is positioned downstream from the sensor unit 21 in the conveyance direction of the sheet 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
