A curable composition contains a polyepoxide and boric oxide or meta-boric acid (B2O3.H2O). The polyepoxide is preferably a polyglycidyl ether of an organic dihydric compound, e.g. bisphenol A. Optional additives include epoxidized soya bean oil, phenyl glycidyl ether, Al, TiO2, ZnO, butanol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, dibutyl phthalate, di-2-methoxy ethyl phthalate, and tricresyl phosphate. Uses: Coating, e.g. wood, glass and steel; moulding; fillers, e.g. for steel panels; solders. |
