Disclosed is a drum washing machine, which can sufficiently obtain a cleaning effect brought by a rotator. The drum washing machine (1) is provided with: an outer groove (20) which is disposed in a housing (10); a drum (22) which is disposed in the outer groove (20) and can rotate taking a horizontal axis H as a centre; a rotator (24) which is disposed at a back part of the drum (22), a surface of which is provided with protruding parts (24a) in contact with a washing item; and a driving part (30) which enables the drum (22) and the rotator (24) to rotate around the same axis at speeds different from each other. The drum has lifting ribs (23), which are provided on an inner circumferential surface of the drum (22) and are served as a moving unit which enables the washing item in the drum (22) to move towards the direction of the rotator (24), wherein protruding surfaces (23R, 23L) of the lifting rib (23), which gather the washing item by means of the rotation of the drum (22), incline in a manner of enabling a rotator (24) side to lag in the rotational direction of the drum (22).
