The present invention relates to a method for punching a hole on a road sign plate to reduce the wind load applied to a sign plate. According to the present invention, the method for punching a hole on a road sign plate comprises: a step of calculating the porosity of the sign plate according to a punching interval and a punching diameter of the sign plate; a step of calculating the drag coefficient of the sign plate according to the porosity; a step of estimating the reflection coefficient of the sign plate according to the punching interval and the punching diameter; and a step of selecting optimal punching interval and punching diameter from the drag coefficient and the reflection coefficient. When the punching diameter and the punching interval are determined upon consideration of the drag coefficient and the reflection coefficient, the wind load can be reduced while maintaining good visibility for drivers.
