A liquid crystal display is provided which can avoid degradation of picture quality by preventing deviations in parasitic capacitance between a data line and a pixel electrode. The liquid crystal display includes data lines and gate lines, compensation patterns covering the data lines, thin film transistors disposed at regions neighbored to crossings of the data and gate lines, pixel electrodes disposed in pixel regions defined by the crossings and respectively connected to the thin film transistors; and a common electrode disposed to overlap the pixel electrodes, One edge of each of the compensation patterns is spaced apart from the pixel electrodes by a predetermined distance. |

a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines arranged to cross each other; a plurality of compensation patterns covering the plurality of data lines, respectively; a plurality of thin film transistors disposed at regions neighbored to crossings of the data lines and the gate lines; a plurality of pixel electrodes disposed in pixel regions defined by the crossings of the gate lines and the data lines and respectively connected to the plurality of thin film transistors; and a common electrode disposed to overlap the pixel electrodes, with a passivation film interposed therebetween, wherein one edge of each the compensation patterns is spaced apart from the pixel electrodes by a predetermined distance. |
