An automatic adjusting bed comprises multiple supporting units (102), multiple adjusting mechanisms (104), multiple induction units (106), a control device and a power supply device; each adjusting mechanism (104) is connected with one or more than one supporting unit (102) and is used for adjusting the height of the supporting unit (102); the multiple induction units (106) are used for generating signals comprising relevant human body information; the control device is connected with the multiple induction units (106) and the multiple adjusting mechanisms (104) and comprises a part recognition module used for recognizing one or more parts of a human body according to the relevant human body information, a part adjusting module used for determining, using a part proportion algorithm, the distance that the supporting units (102) corresponding to the one or more parts need to be adjusted, and a control output module used for emitting a control signal for controlling the adjusting mechanisms (104) to adjust the height of each supporting unit (102) according to the distance to be adjusted; the power supply device is connected with the adjusting mechanisms (104), the induction units (106) and the control device and is used for supplying power to the adjusting mechanisms (104), the induction units (106) and the control device. An adjusting method for the automatic adjusting bed is also provided.
