The present invention relates to an engine having a protection cover cooling function, comprising: a compression part; a cooling part; a supply part; an exhaust part; a turbine part; and a first bypass part. The compression part compresses a gas that is supplied to a combustion part where the gas and the fuel are burned. The cooling part cools the gas that has undergone the compression part. The supply part provides a flow path to supply the gas that has undergone the cooling part to the combustion part. The exhaust part provides a flow path to discharge an exhaust gas generated from the combustion part. The turbine part generates power to operate the compression part using the exhaust gas discharged through the exhaust part. The first bypass part provides a protective cover installed on the exterior of the exhaust part and a flow path to supply a part of the gas cooled by the cooling part to the protective cover to cool the protective cover. According to the present invention, the protective cover is cooled, thereby preventing an accident to a worker.
