The present invention relates to an electrode active material and to a manufacturing method thereof and, more specifically, to an electrode active material manufactured by using coal as a raw material, a manufacturing method thereof, and an energy storage device applying the same. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the electrode active material derived from coal, the manufacturing method thereof, and a slurry composition for an electrode comprising the same achieving the low cost secondary battery technology by developing a carbon active material having large specific area capable of occluding and discharging hydrogen ions by a coal activating method. |
