Disclosed are a device for scarfing a cast and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for scarfing a cast comprises: an upper nozzle unit having an upper surface nozzle to scarf an edge of the upper surface of a cast and a first side nozzle unit to scarf an upper edge of a side of the cast and move with the upper surface nozzle; a lower nozzle unit having a lower surface nozzle to scarf an edge of the lower surface of the cast and a second side nozzle unit to scarf an lower edge of the side of the cast and move with the lower surface nozzle; and a moving device to move the upper nozzle unit and the lower nozzle unit towards the edges of the cast or away from the edges of the cast.
