The present invention provides a system and a method for updating a secret key wherein shared secret keys between an authentication server and access points can be updated at once. During the update of a secret key between an authentication server and an access point, the authentication server generates a shared secret key to be newly used, generates a secret key update message including the shared secret key to be newly used, which has been encrypted by using a shared secret key appointed in advance for the access point, transmits the generated secret key update message to the access point, receives a secret key update response message corresponding to the secret key update message from the access point, and updates the shared secret key to be newly used with the appointed shared secret key if the secret key update response message is received. |
