Improvements of end-of-train units and associated uses

The equipment (10) has a completely pneumatic control chain comprising an acquisition unit that uniquely measures, in a common pneumatic conduit (CG) along the length of a train (1), the pressure variation generated by a locomotive (2) of the train. The chain has actuating and processing units which empty the common conduit at level of rear of the train based on the pressure variation in the conduit. The emptying of the pneumatic conduit is successively repeated, where the number and duration of the emptying operation is based on the pressure variation. An independent claim is also included for a method of emptying a common conduit.
