The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for exchanging money piece by piece using a virtual account. A method of processing overseas remittance, performed by the apparatus for exchanging money piece by piece, comprises the steps of: requesting for depositing money to be exchanged from a person if data for requesting fragmentary exchange of the money is received; if information of the money to be exchanged, which is deposited in a first account, is received, dividing the money by n, the number of expected exchange rates included in the data, setting one/n of the money to be exchanged as a unit amount of money, and setting the highest exchange rate among the multiple expected exchange rates included in the data as a reference exchange rate; monitoring exchange rate information to check whether the floating exchange rate regarding each unit amount of money decreases below the reference exchange rate; and when the floating exchange rate decreases below the reference exchange rate, withdrawing the unit amount of money from the first account and processing exchange of the unit amount of money at the lower one among the reference exchange rate or the floating exchange rate when comparison is performed. |
