Endoscope with adjustable view angle

The endoscope has an optical fiber (40) with a light inlet surface (41) and a light outlet surface (42) for transferring illumination light from the light inlet surface to the light outlet surface. The optical fiber with the surfaces is pivoted relative to the endoscope around a pivoting axle (28), which is perpendicular to a longitudinal axle of a shaft of the endoscope. The optical fiber comprises a bundle of fiber optic cables (44), which are glued, fused or grouted together so as to strengthen the bundle. The optical fiber is curved between the surfaces.
