The present invention relates to an optical film, capable of equally separating a layer, including an optical anisotropic layer, from a base material, when the layer including the optical anisotropic layer is printed on a subject, and moreover, suppressing the degradation of an in-plane phase difference value in a high temperature dry condition. A method to manufacture an optical film includes: a process of applying a composite, including a polymeric liquid crystal compound, on an orientation film of a laminator including a base material and the orientation film; and a process of radiating an active energy beam to the laminator with the composite. The process of radiating the active energy beam includes the radiation of the active energy beam, performed at least two times. A ratio of a first radiation of the active energy beam to a second radiation of the active energy beam satisfies the formula (2-1), and also the active energy beam of the energy of the second radiation is 10-10000 mJ/cm^2. In here, the formula (2-1) is 15 > (a first radiation energy) / (a second radiation energy) > 0.1. |
