The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel, which is to perform a brake process without reversing a cell substrate. To this end, according to the present invention, a trench line (TL) is formed on a first main surface (SF1) of a first brittle substrate (11). The trench line (TL) is formed to obtain the crackless status. The first brittle substrate (11) and a second brittle substrate (12) are bonded to each other to allow the first main surface (SF1) of the first brittle substrate (11) and a third main surface (SF3) of the second brittle substrate (12) to face each other. A crack line (CL) is formed by extending a crack of the first brittle substrate (11) in the thickness direction along the trench line (TL). The crack line (CL) is formed on a fourth main surface (SF4) of the second brittle substrate (12). The first and second brittle substrates (11, 12) are divided by locally applying load onto the second main surface (SF2) of the first brittle substrate (11) to bend the first and second brittle substrates (11, 12). |
