A cover device and an electronic device having the cover device are provided. The cover device includes a first protection cover detachably engaged with an electronic device having a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card mounting unit on one surface of the electronic device, for covering the one surface of the electronic device, and a second protection cover compatible with the first protection cover and having a second SIM card mounting unit electrically connected to a contact terminal provided on the one surface of the electronic device by contacting the contact terminal.
