The present invention provides a side sill garnish for protecting a vehicle door opening sill and enhancing a decorating function. A side till garnish 1 is mounted on an upper surface of a side sill 11 in a door opening of a vehicle. The side sill garnish 1 includes a synthetic resin garnish body 5A, 5B (5 in figure 1) and a metal protection plate 6 covering an upper surface 5B of the garnish body 5. The protection plate 6 covers an outer side end 5A of the garnish body 5 located on an outer side of the vehicle 2. The sill garnish preferably has a light source, and an opening 14 may be provided in the metal kick plate for the lens 24. A second light source 20 may be provided for lighting the adjacent ground. The metal plate may protect the entire width of the synthetic plastic garnish from feet or shoe contact, and therefore wear and scratches. |
