The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for providing a user location based service. The apparatus for providing a service interlocked with a base station, an evolved packet core (EPC) and a home subscriber server determines whether a particular message for a first terminal is periodically received from the EPC, when providing a service based on the location of a user; determines that the first terminal has left a local community service providing area, if the particular message is not periodically received, and determines whether a second terminal connected to the first terminal exists; and provides a notification message informing the leaving of the first terminal to the second terminal, when the second terminal exists. |
