953,804. Projection systems. SAUNIER DUVAL. Nov. 30, 1960 [Dec. 1, 1959], No. 41201/60. Heading G2J. For displaying information by projection at one or more positions remote from an operating position, a card bearing the information is dispatched, by pneumatic means, from a control desk at the operating position to a projector along a tube system, means being provided at the operating position for electrically controlling pneumatic values whereby the card may subsequently be rejected, or passed to a further projection system. As shown in Fig. 1 the card 37 is formed with a vane 38 by means of which it is driven along rectangularsection tubes (Fig. 6) by compressed air. The flow of air in the tube system is controlled by a solenoid-operated pneumatic valve 3 in the blower which is actuated whenever a duplicate pilot card of the one to be projected is inserted into one of a plurality of compartments provided in the control desk. Insertion of the pilot card, after the one to be projected has been inserted via a slot 19 into the tube system, triggers switches which , in dependence upon the particular compartment selected, will operate a corresponding one of a series of valves 22 to guide the card to a predetermined branch of the tube system, and at the same time will operate valve 3. When a card 37 (see Fig. 5) arrives at the selected projection position it is trapped by a solenoid-operated comb 56 between transparent portions of the tube aligned with a projection system. The lamp 54 of the latter is energized and at the same time valve 3 is closed, by means of a limit switch 24 actuated by the arrival of the card. The card may then be rejected, by means of a deflecting flap, in response to a signal from the control desk given by removing the pilot card from its slot. Otherwise the card will proceed automatically to the next projector along the line. |
