<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental-load display method for a vehicle that allows a driver to easily grasp the amount of emission of an environmental load substance such as carbon dioxide. <P>SOLUTION: The environmental-load display method for a vehicle is configured to acquire information representing the amount of exhaust gas of an environmental load substance. The information is divided into three types of states, that is, a first state in which the amount of an environmental load substance is zero, a second state in which the amount of an environmental load substance is smaller than the reference value, and a third state in which the amount of an environmental load substance exceeds the reference value, or more. When the information corresponds to the second state or the third state, it is configured to display a still image or a moving image including a specific shape pattern P1 simulating a vehicle and a specific shape pattern P2 or P3 simulating exhaust gas, and also, to switch the display area of the exhaust gas between the specific shape patterns P2, P3 at least in the second state and the third state.
