The present disclosure includes methods for coating and/or repairing a surface (102) of a titanium metal part (100). Uncoated or damaged portions of the surface (102) of titanium parts (100) are prepared for coating, followed by applying a first coating. A second coating may then be applied to form a coated or repaired surface (110; 124). The coated or repaired surface (110; 124) may be machined to produce a finished surface (126) having a predetermined thickness.
