The present invention relates to: a novel amino-phenyl-sulfonyl-acetate derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes, comprising the amino-phenyl-sulfonyl-acetate derivative or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as an active ingredient. In addition, the present invention provides a compound represented by chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
