REGENERATED SILK COMPOSITION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to regenerated silk having excellent mechanical properties. Particularly, provided are: a regenerated silk composition comprising silk fibroin having the specific distribution of the molecular weight, with excellent mechanical properties, the viscosity of a solution, and the like; a method for manufacturing the same; and a regenerated silk film comprising the same. The regenerated silk composition comprising silk fibroin has a silk molecular weight index greater than or equal to 11, which is represented by calculation formula 1. In calculation formula 1: the silk molecular weight index is equal to I_450 divided by I_150. The I_450 is the absorbance with respect to ultraviolet rays of 280 nm in the elution volume corresponding to 450 kDa in the molecular weight distribution of the silk fibroin. The I_150 is the absorbance with respect to ultraviolet rays of 280 nm in the elution volume corresponding to 150 kDa in the molecular weight distribution of the silk fibroin.
