The present invention relates to a composition for treating injuries of corneal epithelial cells and promoting regeneration, comprising gintonin as an active ingredient, wherein the gintonin is a glycolipid protein separated from ginseng. In addition, the gintonin is a drug including a high concentration LPA and thus having an effect of quickly and excellently recovering cornea damages by increasing the LPA concentration in a damaged cornea and thus inducing the proliferation of corneal epithelial cells. The composition of the present invention can be helpfully used as medicines for treating corneal erosion and corneal ulcer of humans and animals, or a similar therapeutic agent for cornea damages.
