A component detection sensor (24) for detecting a component on a component feeder tape (12) is installed at a predetermined position before a component suction position of a tape feeder (11). When a worker manually feeds the component feeder tape (12) forward or backward during the setup operation of the component feeder tape (12), whether a component on the component feeder tape (12) is detected or not is determined every time the component feeder tape (12) is fed by one pitch, either in the forward or backward direction, on the basis of an output signal from the component detection sensor (24), and the count value (remaining component quantity) of a remaining component quantity counter is decremented by one every time a component is detected during the forward feeding operation, and the count value is incremented by one every time a component is detected by the component detection sensor (24) during the backward feeding operation. |
