<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that can suppress influence of leakage light, etc. from plural optical elements on the same board on adjacent optical elements, etc., whereby cross-talk noise can be greatly reduced. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module has internal waveguides 16 in first grooves 1a of a board 1, mirror portions 15, optical elements 12a, 12b and external waveguides 2. The first grooves 1a of the board 1 are configured so that the plural first grooves 1a are substantially parallel to one another under an independent state, and adjacent first grooves 1a-1, 1a-2 are designed to be different in length (L1, L2) from the end face of the board 1.
