The present invention relates to an electrolyte for a rechargeable battery, a manufacturing method thereof, and a rechargeable lithium battery or a hybrid capacitor including the same. More specifically, the non-aqueous liquid electrolyte used in the lithium rechargeable battery includes an aromatic sultone compound represented by the chemical formula 1 as an additive. The electrolyte is stable even under high voltage and high temperature conditions corresponding to a large-capacity positive electrode. In the chemical formula 1, X can be -CH_2- or -CO-. R1, R2, R3, and R4 can be any one of H, F, Cl or C_nH_2n+1. |
