The present invention relates to a novel lychnis mottle virus gene found in Lychnis cognata Maxim. More specifically, the present invention relates to a lychnis mottle virus gene comprising a base sequence represented by sequence number 1 and a base sequence represented by sequence number 2, a recombinant vector comprising the lychnis mottle virus gene, and a host cell transformed by the recombinant vector. The gene of the present invention can contribute to the distribution of disease-free host plants including Lychnis cognata Maxim. and also to quality improvement.
