<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a bridge which substantially has no little expansion/contraction quantity in a small span has no trouble even when telescopic joints are disused, and a cutoff is made and suppression of noise by traveling vehicles can be used by removing the telescopic joints, but it is not tried currently to remove the telescopic joints. <P>SOLUTION: An improvement type bridge support structure has an end (11) of a bridge (1) fixed to a bridge abutment (2). At a top (22) of an upright breast wall part (21) of the bridge abutment (2), a reconstruction part (23) is located which is united with the upright breast wall part (21). A joint gap (3) between the bridge (1) and upright breast wall part (21) is covered with a covering floor slab (4) which has its one end (41) united with the bridge (1) at a removal part (12) formed on the bridge (1) and the other end (42) extended onto the reconstruction part (23). A sliding overlap (5) is interposed between the reconstruction part (23) and covering floor slab (4).
