PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a print image which is superior in gloss homogeneity, and has a small thickness level difference (what is called a relief feeling) of a coating.SOLUTION: An image forming method includes an ink sticking step of discharging a droplet of active light beam curing type inkjet ink including a photopolymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator, and a gelant from an inkjet recording head 14, and sticking the droplet on an intermediate transfer medium 11; a transfer step of transferring the ink droplet stuck on the intermediate transfer medium to a recording medium 12; a curing step of irradiating ink droplets transferred to the recording medium with an active light beam and curing the respective droplets. The ink at a temperature of the intermediate transfer medium in the ink sticking step has a viscosity of 1×10mPa s or larger and less than 5×10mPa s and a storage elastic modulus of 3×10Pa or larger and less than 3×10Pa. |
