<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that is capable of reducing in planar size and of enhancing installation flexibility while preventing a component configuration from being complicated. <P>SOLUTION: A projector comprises: an optical unit for projecting a light beam modulated in response to image information on a projection surface to be projected; a light source driving device 82 for driving a light source device of the optical unit; a power supplying device 81 for supplying power at least to the light source driving device 82; and an outer housing 3 for accommodating the optical unit, the light source driving device 82 and the power supplying device 81. The outer housing 3 is provided with a top surface portion at one thickness direction side and a bottom surface portion 12 at other side.
