The present invention provides a network device and an operating method thereof, wherein the security vulnerability of an access device can be solved (mitigated) efficiently using information relating to a private network by providing an environment in which a private network for enabling data transmission and reception between a terminal and a private intranet without passing through a core network is connected to an access device such as a Wi-Fi AP. The network device comprises: a terminal determining part for determining whether or not a terminal connecting to an access device to connect to a private intranet has been permitted to connect to the intranet; and a connection blocking control part for blocking the connection of the terminal to the access device if the terminal has not been permitted to connect.
