<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a contact glass to be stably cleaned over a long term by adjusting a sweeping force exerted on the contact glass by a brush part disposed in a cleaning member depending on use environment. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus reads an image of an original on the basis of a reflected light from the original by irradiating light irradiated from a light source via a contact glass 32 onto the original passing therealong. The image reading apparatus includes: a cleaning member 4 having a body 41 and a brush part 42; and temperature detection means 51 to detect a temperature in the image reading apparatus. The body 41 is disposed opposedly over a substantially entire length of the contact glass 32 and is rotated in a non-contact state. The brush part 42 is attached along an axial direction of the body part and is brought into contact with an original passing surface of the contact glass 32. The brush part 42 is brought into contact with the contact glass 32 in a state that a sweeping force of the brush part 42 is adjusted according to an output of the temperature detection means 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
