PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum titanate-based honeycomb structure, which can be easily increased in size.SOLUTION: There is provided the aluminum titanate-based honeycomb structure in which columnar aluminum titanate-based honeycomb fired bodies 20, where a plurality of cells 22 are arranged side by side in the longitudinal direction across cell walls 24, have a structure of a plurality thereof bonded via an adhesive layer 14 containing at least ceramic particles, at least one part of the plurality of cells 22 is a cell whose cross sectional shape perpendicular to the longitudinal direction is a hexagonal shape, and at least one part of the plurality of aluminum titanate-based honeycomb fired bodies 20 is a columnar body whose cross sectional shape perpendicular to the longitudinal direction is a hexagonal shape. |
