The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate; at least one gate line and at least one data line which are located on the first substrate; at least one thin film transistor which is connected to the gate line and the data line and includes a source electrode and a drain electrode; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer located between the first and the second substrate; a pixel electrode located in the first substrate or the second substrate; a block matrix which is located in the first or the second substrate and defines a pixel region; a color filter arranged to correspond to a pixel region; and a cell gap adjusting layer which is located in the first and the second substrate and forms another cell gap in a pixel region.
