<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the decline of productivity, prevent a sheet bundle from swelling, and make the folding height of the sheet bundle low. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet folding device to apply a folding process to a sheet bundle PB is configured to bump a bumping member 301 in conjunction with the drive of upper and lower pressing plates 219 and 220 to a tabular folding blade which contacts with the surface of the sheet bundle PB to push into a press-folding part 200, the upper and lower folding plates 219 and 220 which clamp to pressurize the sheet bundle PB pushed into the press-folding part 200, and a folding end part W of the sheet bundle PB projecting from the upper and lower folding plate 219 and 220 under the pressurized condition from the downstream side in the sheet conveying direction so that the folding height of the folded sheet bundle, where a U-shaped folding line of a section is formed on the folding end part W of the sheet bundle PB by pushing on the end K of the most downstream side in the sheet conveying direction of the upper limit pressing plates 219 and 220, becomes low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
