SOLUTION: An ISCV (idle speed control valve) 38 adjusts a flow volume of air in an intake air passage 28 supplying the air to an engine 12. An ECU 52 calculates an appropriate degree of valve opening at which a rotational speed of the engine 12 during idling indicates a predetermined value, and adjusts an upper degree of valve opening so as to indicate a value increasing over a secular change of the engine 12. Furthermore, the ECU 52 controls a degree of opening of the ISCV 38 during idling in a range that is according to the calculated appropriate degree of opening and that does not exceed the upper limit degree of valve opening.EFFECT: To make it possible to stabilize a rotational speed during idling for a long period from the beginning of the use of an engine 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
