PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which can surely be fixed in a vessel.SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 10 includes a honeycomb structure body 20 which: has an outside wall 21, which is formed from porous ceramic and constitutes a side surface, and inside walls 25, which are used for partitioning the internal space surrounded by the outside wall 21 in a grid pattern; and the cross-sectional shape of which is continued from one end face 11 to the other end face 12 along the longitudinal direction. A convex part 23 is arranged on such a crossing line that the outside surface 211 of the outside wall 21 has a crossing with the surface perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the honeycomb structure body 20. As a result, a locking part 37 for locking the convex part 23 of the honeycomb structure 10 is arranged on the side of a metallic pipe 30 for housing the honeycomb structure 10 so that the honeycomb structure 10 can surely be fixed mechanically in the metallic pipe 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
