The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an optical anisotropic film, so as to form an optical anisotropic layer by allowing an alignment film layer and a liquid crystal compound layer to be in a desired range of an optical axis on a carrier substrate. The method includes the following steps: forming the alignment film layer on the carrier substrate; applying a composition containing a liquid crystal compound on an upper portion of the alignment film layer to form the optical anisotropic film with a controlled optical axis; and controlling surface illumination.
