Disclosed are a pattern structure and a manufacturing method thereof. The disclosed pattern structure includes: multiple pattern structure units arranged on the same plane, and including first and second surfaces, the opposite to each other, and including microstructures placed on the first surface; and a flattening layer placed on second surfaces of the pattern structure units to connect the pattern structure units with each other. At this point, a vertical step exists between the second surfaces of the pattern structure units.
