摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a flicker caused by a fall in pixel potential when driven at a low frequency of about 10 Hz in order to reduce power consumption in a liquid crystal display device having a high-definition screen.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is characterized in that a pixel is formed at a density of 400 ppi or more in a first direction; in the pixel, a TFT as a switching element is formed of poly-Si, a capacitance insulation layer 111 is formed on a first electrode 110 formed into a plane shape, and a comb-like second electrode 112 is formed on the capacitance insulation layer 111; when a film thickness of the capacitance insulation film 111 is defined as d, and dielectric constant at a frequency of 10 Hz is defined as &egr;, &egr;d≥5×10m at the frequency of 10 Hz; the capacitance insulation film 111 has no hysteresis characteristic; and a refractive index of the capacitance insulation film 111 with respect to light of a wavelength of 632.8 nm is 1.7 to 2.0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
