PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system of a discharge lamp capable of suppressing flickering of a projection image more than conventional.SOLUTION: A power supply control unit has a segment signal generating section for generating a segment signal indicating a plurality of segment periods by dividing a specific period indicated by a video synchronization signal, and a peak value control section for generating a first control signal depending on the peak value of an AC current for every segment period. The peak value control section sets a specific segment period where an integration value, i.e., the product of the length of segment period and a peak value set in the segment period, indicates a value farthest from the average value of integration value in the specific period, out of a plurality of segment periods belonging to the specific period, in other than the final segment located at the end of the specific period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
