PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component which can combine high inductance with high saturation current.SOLUTION: There is provided the coil component that includes: a columnar part 11; square plate-like parts 12 formed at both end parts of the columnar part 11; a coil 31 formed by winding around the columnar part 11 an insulation coated conductor; an electrode terminal 41 electrically connected to both ends of the coil 31; and an exterior part 21 covering at least a part of the coil 31. The columnar part 11 and the square plate-like part 12 are composed of ferrite materials, the exterior part 21 contains metal magnetic particle and resin material, and in a cross section that passes through the center of the columnar part 11 and is vertical to a long axial direction of the columnar part 11, a cross sectional area of the columnar part 11 is larger than a cross sectional area of the exterior part 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
